QHSE Manager
Location: Gloucester
Salary: Circa £50,000
A local engineering and manufacturing company is looking to recruit a QHSE Manager to join their team.
RESPONSIBLE FOR:
QA/QC Engineer, QC Engineer, Documentation Controllers, QHSE Administrator.
JOB SUMMARY:
The QHSE Manager is responsible for maintaining the Quality Management System and ISO9001:2015 accreditation for the business. You will ensure that the Company complies with all regulatory requirements and that a good Health and Safety culture is adhered to throughout the company.
MAIN DUTIES OF JOB:
1. Managing and monitoring the QHSE performance of the company and assuring compliance with Health and Safety legislation.
2. Managing the Quality and Document Control Teams to ensure commitment to achieving functional goals.
3. Ensuring that all in-process inspection, documentation and testing activities are completed accurately and that all materials received and despatched meet required specifications.
4. Monitoring and advising on all QHSE matters to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and good industry practice.
5. Responsibility for the Company's QMS processes and procedures to maintain ISO9001 accreditation.
6. Liaising with customers and supply chain regarding QHSE matters.
7. Managing records of Lifting Equipment and machinery inspections.
8. Chairing H&S/Business Improvement Committee to evaluate effectiveness of systems and procedures.
9. Conducting monthly H&S site inspections and reporting to area owners.
10. Ensuring timely investigations and reports on failed/defective components.
11. Carrying out risk assessments and considering how risks could be reduced.
12. Managing emergency procedures: Fire, signage, PPE, COSHH control, accident investigation, etc.
13. Reviewing training and competency with Team Leaders and arranging training where required.
14. Reporting on Company's QHSE performance to leadership team and statutory authorities.
15. Updating quality objectives and KPI measures quarterly.
16. Keeping track of lessons learned and sharing with team members.
17. Conducting QHSE inductions and training courses.
18. Acting as subject matter expert for QHSE matters.
19. Resolving and/or escalating issues in a timely manner.
20. Offering QHSE consultancy to the Company's subsidiaries and affiliates.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
The ideal candidate MUST come from the Manufacturing Industry as a QHSE Manager. You will also have the following skills, qualifications and experience:
1. Hold an Engineering Qualification such as C&G, HNC, HND or Beng.
2. Quality Assurance qualification from an accredited body, e.g., CQI certificate/diploma or through experience.
3. ISO9001:2015 Internal Auditor qualification.
4. Hold a H&S Qualification such as NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
1. Experienced in managing and implementing Quality Management and H&S Systems.
2. Experience in carrying out internal and external Quality Audits.
3. Experience in a Quality Inspection role in a Manufacturing or Engineering environment.
4. Knowledge of various manufacturing processes and ability to evaluate and problem solve.
5. Understanding and experience in interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
6. Experience in carrying out accident investigations and reporting.
7. Knowledge of the oil, gas and offshore industry.
