Ceded Reinsurance is a strategic function within AXA XL responsible for defining and implementing the reinsurance strategy and administrating all reinsurance treaties through their lifecycle. The Ceded Re Operations team administers all Treaty Reinsurance business written within AXA XL, composed of four key areas: Technical Operations, Technical Accounting, Data & Operations Reporting, and Central Operations.
This role resides within the Ceded Reinsurance Specialty Technical Operations team in London, which is responsible for global specialty reinsurance policy set-up for Marine tower and administration of Ceded Reinsurance issued to brokers.
Essential Responsibilities:
1. Manage and operate Ceded reinsurance in three operating system tools.
2. Partner with intermediaries to manage sanction-related issues, maintaining close relations with internal customers and colleagues in Claims, Underwriting, Finance, Actuarial, and Legal.
3. Review and improve the Sanction review process, liaising with inward teams for resources and insights.
4. Build close relationships with the operations team in India, holding regular calls to discuss workload and issues.
5. Support the Ceded Re transformation journey and actively participate in projects aimed at driving efficiency.
6. Oversee cash calls as per contractual provisions.
7. Ensure all contractual reporting requirements are met.
8. Work closely with the Technical Accounting team to support the credit control process and improve cash flow.
9. Attend regular meetings with Ceded Placement Officers to understand new placements and their interactions.
10. Provide review and sign-off of new policy set up by ESS Shared Services in core systems.
11. Contribute to the Frame Fac Premiums process for XLICSE, liaising with Middle Office until run-off.
You will report to the Assistant Manager – Ceded Re Technical Operations.
Required Skills and Abilities:
1. Some experience with multiple lines of business in a Reinsurance environment.
2. Advanced command of MS Office, particularly Excel, and potentially Access.
3. Ability to liaise with key stakeholders internally and externally.
4. Good collaborator, able to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
5. Coaching and capability-building skills, conscientious about quality and accuracy.
6. Excellent time management and organizational skills.
7. Agility and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
8. Experience working with a virtual team.
9. Robust communication skills, both verbal and written.
10. Able to work to tight deadlines for accurate financial reporting.
11. Good attention to detail and process.
12. Comfortable providing training to the team as required.
13. Willingness to travel to other AXA XL offices for meetings and training.
