We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated SEN 1:1 Support Assistant to join a team at a wonderful and vibrant school. This role involves providing tailored support to a child with Special Educational Needs (SEN) on a one-to-one basis, helping them to access the curriculum, develop independence, and reach their full potential in a supportive learning environment.
You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to implement personalised learning strategies, manage behaviour effectively, and provide emotional and academic support. This role begins March 2025.
Duties as a SEN 1:1 Support Assistant:
* Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a child with SEN, adapting teaching methods to meet their individual needs.
* Assisting with learning activities and ensuring the child remains engaged in lessons.
* Implementing strategies outlined in the child’s Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
* Supporting social and emotional development, encouraging confidence and independence.
* Managing behaviour effectively in line with school policies.
* Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to ensure consistent support.
* Assisting with personal care or medical needs where required (if applicable).
Ideal SEN 1:1 Support Assistant:
* Experience in providing dedicated 1:1 support for a child with SEN.
* Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual needs.
* Familiarity with implementing strategies outlined in an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
* Skills in supporting social and emotional development.
* Effective behaviour management in line with school policies.
