We are currently looking for compassionate female support workers to provide care to a young woman in her 20’s who lives independently in Winchester area. This particular individual enjoys things like cooking and her six year old Jack-Russell called Grace, who is incredibly friendly. They need reliable, bubbly, bright support staff who are happy to support her in and out of her home with daily tasks (like shopping) and are comfortable with dogs. Given the nature of the role there is a requirement for candidates to hold a full, valid and clean driving licence, access to their own motorised transport, and business insurance policy. Available shifts Monday to Friday, from 7 a.m to 5 p.m. About You As a Specialist Care support worker you will play a crucial part in supporting this individual to live a meaningful and fulfilled life despite any physical or mental challenges they may face on a daily basis. You will empower those you support to identify their goals, pursue their hobbies and in some cases, be part of the local community. You’re an experienced, empathetic and resilient Support Worker, deeply committed to assisting individuals with a unique range of disabilities and associated health needs. You will be compassionate, observant, patient and confident. You will be skilled in monitoring changes in mood and developing techniques to calm and de-escalate. Ideally you will have knowledge and experience of complex needs. You’re able to communicate clearly and sensitively with vulnerable people and their families, and always adopt a person-centred approach. You enjoy helping individuals to be independent through companionship, providing reassurance and enabling confidence. You take pride in doing a great job and are happy assisting with cooking, domestic duties, personal care, attending appointments and social activities. You’re keen to develop your career through training, learning and gaining relevant qualifications.
