The Role: Croydon High School has an excellent opportunity for a talented Teacher of Chemistry to join our vibrant and thriving Science department. We are looking for an individual who can inspire students by teaching with expertise and enthusiasm, offer support to the learning of individual students and contribute to the school’s pastoral system. The successful candidate will be a well-qualified graduate with the ability to teach Chemistry up to A Level. We welcome applications from both experienced practitioners and Early Career Teachers (ECTs). A proven track record of academic success in Chemistry, or an equivalent experience in teaching is essential. The Science Faculty and Chemistry Department The Science Faculty, comprising Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, is one of the largest departments within the school with each subject led by a dedicated Head of Department under the guidance of the Head of Science. Science is a highly popular choice at A Level, with many students progressing to pursue science-related degrees at university. The faculty is supported by a team of specialist teachers, including two full-time and one part-time technician. Our teaching takes place across seven spacious and well-equipped laboratories, with an additional two smaller teaching labs, six of which have recently been refurbished and now feature state-of-the-art Clevertouch interactive screens. Chemistry consistently achieves exceptional results, with 100% of A Level students attaining A to B grades in 2024, and 92% of GCSE students securing grades 9-7. Why Croydon High School?
