Maintenance Technician (Temporary Contract) Hourly Rate: £15.38 - £16.83 (Based on a 40-hour week and annual equivalent of £32,000 - £35,000) Location: Sheffield City Centre Job Type: Temporary, Full-time (40 hours per week) Join one of the leading companies in the Build-to-Rent (BTR) sector. We design, build, and operate large-scale branded apartment schemes for rent. We are currently expanding and looking for a Maintenance Technician on a temporary contract to manage our new 335-apartment scheme in Sheffield City Centre. Day-to-day of the role: Full responsibility for the appearance and running of the Sheffield scheme, including day-to-day checks, repairs, and maintenance of apartments and communal spaces. Collaborate with colleagues on site, the block manager, and third-party contractors. Handle physically demanding tasks in a high-rise residential development. Coordinate with contractors to report, manage, and facilitate the defects programme. Diagnose, repair, and resolve issues in resident apartments, including appliance fixes, painting, and joinery repairs. Manage daily maintenance requests from residents within specified time frames using a CRM system. Ensure all areas of the building, including exterior, car parks, and internal communal areas, are clean and present well. Lead on sourcing and managing relationships with contractors, ensuring compliance and safety across the scheme. Required Skills & Qualifications: Highly organised, thriving in a fast-paced environment, able to manage your own workload and work proactively. Good technical knowledge with experience in residential repair including carpentry, joinery, painting, and decorating. Basic plumbing and electrical experience is desirable. Health & Safety compliance knowledge or IOSH certification. Experience in residential (PRS, BTR, or PBSA) or hospitality sectors is advantageous. Proven record of overseeing Health & Safety and compliance and Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).
