An opportunity has arisen for an FY3/4 post within the Department of Dermatology and Research at The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust. Tenure will be for 12 months but it can be extended for another 12 months. The post holder will work in the Dermatology Department and Research Unit on normal working days. No night on calls are rotated into this post.
Remuneration for the post would be in line with national terms and conditions of service.
Russell’s Hall Hospital is a 764 bedded District General Hospital with a large Acute medicine and Specialty medicine with 123 medical consultants
Main duties of the job
1. Normal working day consists of clinical duties from 09:00 to 17:00.
2. Undertake clinical work in Dermatology Department Diagnosis, including skin biopsies, and treatment of patients at those hospitals, community health centres at Lady’s Walk and Withymoor GP practice and clinics designated by the Dudley Group Hospitals.
3. Responsibilities will include to help in the day to day running of consultant supervised clinics and day cases in dermatology as well as review dermatology inpatients and ward referrals from other specialties.
4. Other responsibilities will include to help in the running of the ongoing and new research studies and clinical trials in Dermatology.
5. Training in research methods and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) will be provided at the start of the post, and updated throughout the duration of the post, as necessary.
6. There may also be a requirement to undertake other similar duties as part of this post in order to provide a quality service. These will be consistent with the level of responsibilities outlined above.

Essential criteria
7. Medical qualification recognised by the General Medical Council (GMC)
8. Full GMC registration with licence to practice
9. Eligibility to live and work in the UK

10. Advanced Life Support Certificate
Knowledge, Training and Experience
Essential criteria
11. A minimum of 12 months UK clinical experience or equivalent
12. 12 months experience at Foundation level or equivalent
Desirable criteria
13. Relevant Dermatology experience
Communication & Relationship Skills
Essential criteria
14. Demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC’s Good Medical Practice (2013)
15. Has understanding of the importance of communication within a clinical setting
16. Capacity to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team. Capacity to establish good working relations with others & values the input of other professionals in the team.
