The Geospatial Solutions Lead will play a crucial role in leading a team of 8 professional GIS Developers to deliver work backlogs in an agile way of working, whilst ensuring the effective utilisation of spatial data to support decision-making processes within Thames Water. What you’ll be doing as a Geospatial Solutions Lead Lead, motivate, and performance manage a team of 8 GIS Developers and technicians specialised in water and waste utilities sector. Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of GIS projects and ensuring alignment with Thames Water priorities and project requirements. Collaborate with project managers and senior stakeholders across the business to define project scopes, budgets (OPEX and CAPEX), and timelines. Where necessary provide business contextual guidance and support to GIS team members to improve business understanding and quality of outcomes. Cultivate a collaborative and inclusive team environment that encourages innovation and problem-solving. Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure seamless integration of GIS solutions. What you should bring to the role Extensive experience with GIS implementation and management. A proficiency in GIS software and tools relevant to water and waste utilities, such as Esri ArcGIS for Water Utilities or similar platforms. Awareness of advanced spatial analysis techniques that support asset management, network planning, and environmental monitoring. Able to adhere to relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards governing GIS practices in the water and waste utilities sector. Desirable Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Experience in a leadership role within the water and waste utilities or similar sector. What’s in it for you? Competitive salary of up to £65,000 per annum depending on experience.
