Spencer Clarke Group are looking for a Clinical Psychologist to join one of our public clients on 2 days per week basis. Working Fridays is essential for this role. In this role, you will provide highly specialised, individualised psychological assistance for individuals of the Croydon borough who are obese and have complex medical concurrent medical conditions and needs. To have a thorough awareness of the nature and application of the National Institute of Health (NICE) weight management guidelines, including their tiered approach and collaboration with community and public health-based programs in the Croydon borough is beneficial. Offer a highly specialised beneficial psychology service to help individuals with complex and severe obesity lose weight and create long-lasting changes.
What you'll do:
* Independently operate in the Tier 3 obesity service, offering professional psychological guidance based on clinical evidence for a clinical caseload of patients with a variety of clinical requirements and disorders related to morbid obesity.
* To provide patients on the pathway with one-on-one and group sessions both in person and through virtual appointment platforms like Microsoft Teams. Applying various psychological interventions, modifying and improving psychological formulations based on various explanatory frameworks, and upholding several tentative hypotheses.
* To jointly develop and carry out plans for the psychological management of a client's mental health issues and psychological adjustment using a variety of techniques, based on a suitable conceptual framework of the client's issues and challenges, and utilising strategies supported by efficacy data.
* To assess and choose a course of therapy while considering therapeutic and theoretical models as well as intricate details about the individual's or group's developmental and historical experiences.
* Assessing and managing risks for specific clients and advising other professions on the psychological aspects of risk assessment and risk management.
* To contribute directly and indirectly to a psychologically based framework of understanding and care to the benefit of all clients of the service, across all settings and agencies serving the client group.
What we're looking for:
* Must have experience in clinical Psychology.
* Experience of working with seriously obese people and/or Tier weight management service.
* Experience of running groups and one-to-one.
* Experience of face-to-face and remote care of patients.
* HCPC Registered
