Our Trust is recruiting enthusiastic, highly motivated nurses to join our dynamic, dedicated, forward-thinking professional team which serves a wide geographical area with rural and urban communities.
The services we provide:
Children’s Inpatient, Day Care, Assessment and Outpatients.
Our Children’s inpatient services provide compassionate care for Children and Young People from 0 to 16 years of age across two busy sites, Royal Lancaster Infirmary and Furness General Hospital. The units provide care for a mixture of specialities and for a wide range of conditions including High Dependency Care.
Main duties of the job
The units encompass inpatient, day care and assessment services for our communities. We also have dedicated Children’s Out-Patient departments on both sites. This ensures a rich variety of experiences and development for our staff.
You will be reliable, flexible, motivated, have excellent clinical skills, a commitment to ongoing learning and development, a commitment to delivering high-quality care, and be willing and open to embracing positive change and transformation in order to meet the demands of the community we serve.
You will care for children, young people and families who are being admitted for assessment, elective or emergency surgery, investigations and treatment, including those requiring high dependency care and will plan and evaluate together with other members of the MDT, ensuring the best possible outcomes for the child, young person, or family, maintaining a high standard of contemporaneous documentation.
You will work within the Nursing and Midwifery Code and adhere to local guidelines and policies, and complete training requirements.
You will work alongside the safeguarding team and follow local safeguarding policy.
If this sounds like you, then we want to hear from you!
Working for our organisation
We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community health care premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
