Planning Engineer
Job scope
1. Establish and maintain project schedules (tender, project and EPC) using information provided by discipline engineers, client, company norms and personal experience of industry.
2. Prepare Schedule Basis Memorandum or planning methodology documents to detail the logic used and assumptions made in developing a project schedule/plan
3. To provide input to planning deliverables and project reporting.
4. Provide project progress plans, s-curves and histograms during project execution
5. Subject matter expert for planning engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning
Main Accountabilities:
6. Interpret project requirements and produce a compliant planning package (Network schedules, WBS, key milestones and interfaces, third party integration, reporting,
7. Input to project reporting
8. Maintain project schedules to reflect actual status of work
9. Check that scheduling control and progress reporting procedures are followed.
10. Prepare work breakdown structures, manpower histograms and S-Curves
11. Review critical activity and proposed corrective actions.
12. Update / produce weekly / monthly progress reports & dashboards
13. Review planned versus actual resource levels and highlight area of concerns.
14. Perform trend analysis and forecasting of project performance including schedule
15. Collaboration with Estimating Team during production of EPC schedules
16. Perform and support qualitative and quantitative schedule risk analysis (SRA) using standard software packages
17. Support change management, claim evaluation and what-if scenario simulations
18. Establish and maintain planning, schedule and productivity KPIs
19. Support lessons learnt and knowledge management process \\\

Competent using:
20. Primavera P6 (expert)
21. Microsoft Project
22. Schedule risk modelling software (Deltek, Safran, Primavera Risk or similar)
23. EPC LSTK, Detailed Engineering on large complex projects in energy and oil & gas
24. Progress measurement methods and tools
25. Excellent Microsoft Office skills
26. Good written verbal and communication skills
Advantageous Experience:
27. Engineering discipline degree
28. Experience of oil and gas projects across a number of disciplines and project phases
29. Primavera database administration
30. Advanced digital control and reporting packages (Ecosys, Prism, Power BI)
31. Data integration and exchange between progress and schedule systems
