Job summary Arts Psychotherapist - Music, Art, Drama or Dance Movement Applications are invited from an HCPC or equivalent, qualified and experienced Arts Psychotherapist to work within a supportive, experienced team of Psychological Practitioners. The post-holder will join an innovative and resourceful Complex Psychological Interventions (CPI) team, who are embedded in multi-disciplinary, community mental health Recovery services in Gloucester and Cinderford. The role will offer a range of Group and Individual creative psychological treatments. We are interested in candidates who have an interest and experience of working in psychologically- and trauma-informed ways which could include offering staff reflective practice and clinical supervision. We welcome applications from across the 4 modalities of creative psychotherapy. A range of models are used within the team and we would value experience in SCM, CAT, EMDR, MBT or CFT - and experience in treatment of trauma. The role will be supported by a Trust Professional Lead for Arts Psychotherapies. There will be quality clinical supervision and opportunities for CPD/career development. The Professional Team are enthusiastic about sharing their skills and knowledge. We regularly take University Trainees on clinical placement. An ability to travel effectively between Team bases (Gloucester and Cinderford) is important. One of the days to be worked on a Thursday for the Team meeting. Main duties of the job The successful applicant will be a resourceful, confident and flexible Arts Psychotherapist. They will have clearly demonstrable skills, competencies and knowledge of working with adults with complex/severe mental health issues in secondary mental health settings. The postholder will have excellent professional and clinical skills directly relevant to the Recovery Team specialism, and experience of work within the NHS and its systems. They will be committed to the principles of person-centred care and treatment and aware of intersectionality. There is also the possibility of working in the triangle of care with carers and families when helpful. They will be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills in providing generic and specialist assessments, creative formulations and focussed creative psychotherapy interventions. They will support reflective practice initiatives in the team. The role includes offering on-going training about the Arts Psychotherapies to other MDT colleagues within the service.
