To provide support and assist with the overall administration and development of specific department programs.
Description of Duties
* Assists with program planning and implementation.
* Compiles, sorts, and organizes data for entry into database.
* Distributes program information and conducts program research.
* Initiates, develops and sustains strong positive relations with stakeholders to ensure achievement of the mission and goals of the department and/or college.
* May track and report on current trends to determine future program needs.
* Assists in preparing reports on the status of the program, including state of development, proposals, budget variances, or other documents as required for the program.
* Assists in the coordination of events, including but not limited to, lectures, lecture series, workshops, meetings, and short courses.
* Greets visitors and communicates with customers, employees, and other individuals to answer questions, disseminate and/or explain information.
* May maintain financial records, including reconciliation of department accounts.
* Assists in the creation and distribution of program materials, forms, and general correspondence.
* May provide program specific training.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervision Received: Special supervision from assigned supervisor.

Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Licenses/Certifications: None.
Required Experience:
* Three (3) years of general office experience or other applicable experience related to the program, or
* One (1) year of the required experience with an Associate's degree or 60 college credit hours.

Equipment: Use of standard office equipment.
Working Conditions: Needs to be able to successfully perform all required duties. Office environment; some travel and weekend work may be required. UTRGV is a distributed institution, which requires presence at multiple locations throughout the Rio Grande Valley.
Other: Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Capacity to multitask under pressure and respond professionally to all inquiries. Ability to interact in a professional manner with faculty, staff, students, and the public. Ability to exercise judgment and collaborate effectively in the solution of practical program relating to office operations and data collection.
