Maintenance Electrician (JR10001155) Wotton-Under-Edge, England
Purpose of the role
Responsible for working within and adhering to the standards as directed by company procedures and the management team.
Receptive to and carry out training as and when required.
Available to attend under a number of working patterns as set down within the National Agreement contract; to include days and a number of various shift patterns.
Assist where required in investment and improvement projects to increase plant efficiency and contribution towards reduction in energy consumption, inline with the company sustainability policy.
Description of the main tasks
1. To provide electrical repair and maintenance skills including fault analysis and identification to facilitate repairs, improvements, and inspections to standards set by the site management team.
2. Work within the IEE Code of Practice for In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment.
3. Work within The Electricity at Work Regulations (1989) and the Quarry Regulations (1999), specifically inspection and test regime.
4. Conduct fault level analysis and specify fuse sizes, feeder over current, and transformer residual earth fault protection.
5. Work with HV and LV switchgear, cable, and transformer system inspection and test regimes.
6. Drive AC/DC motor installations, including understanding of machine operational parameters.
7. Work with slip ring and squirrel cage induction motors.
8. Have a working knowledge of variable speed drive technologies and motor vibration for roller and sleeve bearing systems.
9. Possess a working knowledge of process instrumentation and calibration.
10. Understand The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (1992).
11. Work with safety-critical control systems and associated interlocks.
12. Assist in implementation and commissioning of capital projects.
13. Comply with Company IMS procedures.
14. Assist in the development of a spare parts strategy which best suits plant operation.
The position involves occasional weekend and night working as necessary, particularly during planned and unplanned repairs, and will require flexible working.
Education/Qualification
1. Certification by EPIC to operate mobile plant.
2. NVQ level 2 in mobile plant operations required following EPIC completion.
3. Safety Awareness of Industrial Gases.
4. Practical burning and welding operations.
