Job summary Opportunities have arisen for motivated and enthusiastic Band 5 Occupational Therapists to join our Therapy Teams at Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The posts are rotational across DME, Orthopaedics (trauma and elective), Medicine, Surgery, Acute Neuro, Neuro Rehabilitation (at Clatterbridge Rehab Centre) and our Unplanned Care Team (A&E and assessment areas). The service also works with Community Partners and offering rotations in discharge to assess bed based services. We are committed to to exploring opportunities to further expand rotations available for staff to support clinical development Main duties of the job To communicate effectively with staff, patients, relatives and carers and other agencies regarding care and treatment in order to co-ordinate care and to ensure effective and appropriate planning and delivery of treatment. To be managed by a therapy team leader. To maintain good working relationships with all other staff involved in patient care. To establish a rapport with patients in order to gain their compliance with the treatment programmes. To communicate effectively with patients and adapt approach where there may be barriers to understanding eg deaf, confusion. To be a caring, responsible member of the AHP service and to take a full part in the life of the Department.
