THE ROLE
We seek a dynamic General Manager to lead our passionate team and drive growth. You’ll be involved in crafting the future direction of the business and oversee daily operations, contributing to ongoing success.

This role is being offered on a full time, permanent basis (Monday to Friday and alternate weekend working).
KEY RESPONSIBLITIES
Leadership and team development - fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture. Recruiting and undertaking training and performance reviews.
Operations Management – optimising inventory, supplier relationships, sales and marketing. Ensuring compliance with health/safety standards.
Customer Experience - maintaining high service standards, resolving issues, and gathering feedback to enhance offerings.
Financial Overview – managing budgets, analysing sales data, and implementing strategies to boost profitability.
Innovation - identifying trends to keep us ahead in the market.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
The General Manager will have proven experience of working in a Nursery environment, alongside relevant horticultural qualifications (RHS Level 2/3 or equivalent). You will work on your own initiative, to take ownership of tasks and make decisions that benefit the business. You will be a strong communicator and a solid team worker, with excellent delegation skills; allowing for the efficient management and motivation of existing and new staff, whilst maintaining a friendly, positive working environment. You will have impeccable time-management skills, with an eye for detail and an aptitude for problem-solving. This is a hands-on role that requires a high-level of mobility, physical activity, manual handling and operating machinery. A positive attitude, with a natural intuition and a passion for horticulture is essential for this role, along with a sound plant knowledge, and understanding of seasonality and plant passporting.
