Description: As an Assistant Management Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the Management Accountant to deliver accurate and timely financial information. You will contribute to the preparation of management accounts, assist in the development of accounting practices, and support various financial projects at the Hub level. Key Responsibilities:
1. Management Accounts:
• Continue to develop the internal reporting framework to deliver the business needs.
• Liaise with the existing administrative and support team to ensure finance tasks are run at optimum level whilst meeting monthly deadlines.
• Provide and confirm monthly intercompany balances for confirmation with other intercompany partners.
• Support, where possible, staff cover arrangements for the management accounts team.
• Ensure all statutory payments (Corporation Tax, PAYE & VAT) are made in a timely manner.
2. Statutory Audit:
• Preparation of audit information in line with auditor’s deliverable list as directed by the Management Accountant.
• Provide all ad-hoc analysis required by the external auditors.
• Support the Financial Controller in chasing and reviewing audit deliverables.
3. Working Capital:
• Update bank reconciliations on a daily basis with support from Management Accountant and Credit Controller for reconciliation of receipts and support from Accounts Assistant on reconciliation of payments.
• Preparation of weekly cash forecast.
4. Purchase Ledger:
• Support & Oversee the Accounts Assistant with processing and chasing of all purchase invoices.
• Take ownership of some offices including full processing of invoices.
• Ensure the Accounts Payable ledger is accurate and complete.
• Liaise with the offices on purchase ledger matters.
• Review payment runs prior to processing.
5. Receivables Ledger:
• Import sales invoices from Practice Manager System to Finance System.
• Import receipts from Finance System to Practice Management System.
• Reconciliation of Receivables ledger between Practice Manager System to Finance System.
6. Other:
• Provide monthly receivables and payables ledger summaries for the hub.
• Process purchase and corresponding sales invoices in audit legal entity.
• Actively encouraged to enhance and develop new working methods and processes.
• Ad-hoc projects as required by the business.
Key Requirements:
AAT qualified.
Strong understanding of UK accounting standards, tax legislation, and related updates.
Experience in audit, including planning, control, and completion of diverse assignments.
Additional Requirements:
Strong attention to detail with excellent communication and organisational skills.
Ability to train, develop, and support the management accounts team.
Intermediate Excel skills and familiarity with Xero accounting software (desirable).
Knowledge of IFRS is advantageous.
