Accountancy Recruit is partnering with a hotel business in the recruitment of a Financial Controller based in Mid Suffolk. This is a newly created role reflecting the growth and success of the business and the need to develop financial controls, reporting and analysis together with cash management. You will demonstrate strong communication, a commercial focus, and people management skills, with a proven ability to build productive working relationships across a business. This is the number one finance role on site, and you will be required to implement best practice, and develop/grow the role. Duties Ownership of all operational aspects of financial control across four business entities. Managing, developing and mentoring team members to deliver timely and high-quality financial information. Ensuring the accuracy of day-to-day transactions. Overseeing ledgers and the integrity of month end reporting. Strong review and analytical skills with an eye for detail. Active role within the Senior Leadership Team; provision of comprehensive financial information to inform policy making and strategic decision making. Preparation of monthly Management Accounts and financial statements. Cash flow and treasury management – managing multiple revenue streams. Inter-company transactions, payments and reconciliations. Inventory and stock control management. Monthly Balance Sheet and P&L reporting, ensuring accurate and clear reconciliation of the financial information. Support preparation of clear and useful management information, presenting board packs and commentary. Quarterly / monthly VAT returns within the set deadlines by HMRC. Year end audit requirements – lead liaison with external Auditors. Working closely with the Group Finance Director. Assisting with budgeting / forecasting and ad hoc project requests. Requirement & Skills Fully Qualified: ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent qualification plus post qualification experience gained ideally within the hospitality sector Recent and relevant financial and/or accounting experience, with strong organisational skills to institute and oversee strong financial controls. Ability to be challenging, pragmatic, robust and resilient. Demonstrate being an inspirational leader, with excellent management, coaching and partnering skills, that generates confidence and respect with a wide variety of audiences. Excellent communication skills; proven record of preparing and delivering persuasive, high quality, written and verbal reports and presentations within an organisation. A full UK Drivers Licence is essential Remuneration Salary £65 – 80,000 pa Hours: 40-hour week. Monday to Friday. Flexible hours.
