The Opportunity
This role is working for a highly recognised University in London who have gone through lots of change, and are setting up a People and Change workstream to support.
Reporting to the Head of People Services, this role will be the administrative lead for all job evaluation related activities to a shared portfolio of Schools and Professional Services Directorates, responsible for coordinating the University’s systemic process for ranking jobs. You will also work in partnership with the Reward Manager on projects and business as usual.
Key Responsibilities
The main responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Supporting the application of the job evaluation scheme in a way that provides a hierarchy of jobs and related pay grades that is free from discrimination through:
* Project work: working as part of the project team to facilitate and coordinate the job evaluation of all key Professional Services roles using KornFerry Hay.
* Business as Usual: partner with the Reward Manager on facilitating and preparing for monthly job evaluation panels for any roles not in scope of the project, advising managers on JD's and Specifications, and create and maintain a library of evaluated Job Descriptions for use in recruitment campaigns.
* Ensuring institutional Data Security requirements are met by:
* Maintaining HR filing systems and HR archives, and assist with the compilation of information arising from FOI's and other statutory requests.
* Contributing to collaborative working practices by:
* Working with colleagues across the directorate to ensure an excellent customer experience, support the delivery of the wider HR People Plan with administrative support for regular and ad hoc projects (e.g. employee reward and benefits administration).
* Contributing to the continuous improvement of service delivery and customer experience by:
* Working closely with HR Leads, Directors and the Change Support Unit to ensure that all aspects of job evaluation are effectively managed, supporting HR Leads in preparing and delivering communications.
* Be recognised by colleagues outside of HR as a subject matter expert in relevant job evaluation methodologies, job and organisational design and hierarchies.
* Contribute to the continuous review and improvement of job design and job evaluation processes.
* Liaise with external and internal customers/stakeholders to gather feedback to improve on customer service delivery, and investigate and respond to complaints, escalating to the Head of People Services where appropriate.
The Successful Candidate
Essential Skills:
* A demonstrable and current knowledge of KornFerry Hay and HERA methodologies.
* Level 5 qualification from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development/ Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals/Recruitment and Employment Confederation (or similar body) OR Level 5 Apprenticeship (in a relevant field) OR equivalent workplace experience.
* Demonstrable experience of delivering high quality administrative services in a fast paced environment and previous experience in customer-facing and problem-solving roles.
* Demonstrably excellent communication and interpersonal skills coupled with a highly customer-focused approach delivering excellence in customer service.
