Directorate - Adult Care, Housing and Public Health
Permanent, Full Time, 37 hours per week.
The post holder will support the delivery of excellent tenancy and estate management related services within the South Locality Housing Team, undertaking a range of general tenancy and estate management related duties and effectively resolving issues by providing comprehensive advice and support to tenants and other customers.
The Area Housing Assistant role provides critical support to the Area Housing Officers in the Tenancy and Estate Management Services, in dealing with a broad range of customer issues and enquiries. The team undertakes home visits to tenants to complete Tenancy Health Checks which are prevention, early intervention visits, which includes offering advice and support to tenants which can lead to referrals being made to Adult Social Services, Children’s Services, GP's, Mental Health and third sector organisations.
Area Housing Assistants support the Area Housing Officers with less complex tenancy management work including less complex successions to tenancies, Sole to Joint tenancies and general tenancy management queries which frees up the time of the Area Housing Officers to visit and investigate more complex cases.

Until 31st March 2026 employees paid at Band D and above are subject to a temporary pay reduction of 1.15% spread out by means of a monthly deduction from each pay period over the full financial year.
