Job Title: Activities Coordinator
Salary: £12.50 per hour
Location: Dudley
Contracted Hours: 20 hours per week (with potential for increase for suitable candidate)
Working Days: 5 days per week, Monday to Sunday
About the Role:
We are looking for a compassionate and creative Activities Coordinator to join our team at a 47-bedded care home for elderly residents, including those with dementia. As part of our dedicated team, you will help create a vibrant, engaging, and meaningful environment for our residents through various activities and social programs tailored to their individual needs.
Responsibilities:
1. Plan, organize, and deliver a range of activities that support residents' well-being and enhance their quality of life.
2. Foster positive relationships with residents, ensuring their interests, preferences, and abilities are considered in all activities.
3. Coordinate and facilitate group and one-to-one activities such as arts and crafts, exercise programs, memory games, and social outings.
4. Work closely with the care team to ensure activities align with each resident's care plan and health needs.
5. Maintain records of residents' participation and feedback, helping to assess the effectiveness of the activity program.
6. Promote a friendly and inclusive atmosphere, encouraging residents to participate and enjoy themselves.
About You:
1. Previous experience in an activity coordinator role or working with elderly individuals, preferably those with dementia, is desirable.
2. A genuine passion for improving the lives of older adults and those living with dementia.
3. Creative and able to come up with fun, engaging activities that cater to a range of abilities.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with both residents and staff.
5. Empathetic, patient, and able to work well as part of a team.
6. DBS check will be required for successful candidates.
