Our client is currently seeking to appoint a dedicated and inspiring Teacher of Economics to join their high-performing and ambitious academy. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and talented teacher to deliver high-quality Economics education at KS3 and KS4, and contribute to a culture of excellence and aspiration.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
* Delivering a broad, balanced, and challenging Economics curriculum
* Supporting the progress and development of students as a classroom teacher and form tutor
* Creating engaging and inclusive learning experiences that help students reach their full potential
* Playing a key role in raising standards of student attainment and supporting personal and academic growth
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and prepare effective lessons and schemes of work
* Participate in curriculum development and departmental planning
* Contribute to the academy’s quality assurance processes, including assessment and tracking
* Support staff development and participate in professional learning
* Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents
* Provide pastoral care and support as a form tutor
* Maintain high expectations for behaviour and academic performance
What We’re Looking For:
* QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree
* Successful experience teaching at secondary level, ideally in an 11–18 and multi-ethnic urban school setting
* Strong understanding of effective teaching, learning strategies, and curriculum requirements at KS3 and KS4
* High expectations for all learners and a commitment to equality of opportunity
* Strong ICT skills, including the use of interactive whiteboards
* Excellent time management, organisational, and communication skills
* Ability to work collaboratively and build positive relationships within the school community
* A commitment to motivating students and raising aspirations through innovative and inclusive teaching
