Job Description Summary
Under the general direction of the Supply Chain Operations Manager and within established hospital and department guidelines, the Linen & Equipment Operations Supervisor performs a broad range of activities associated with the support, development, implementation, and deliverance of Supply Chain services. Leads, coordinates, and supports projects, providing Linen and Equipment coordination and expense reduction support. Identifies and supports the implementation of process improvements and opportunities to expand existing services while recommending new ones. Provides operational support to the SSH Supply Chain team through information gathering and analysis, operational coordination, and problem solving. Actively supports the delivery of high-quality customer service and develops, implements, and supports effective quality and productivity measurement. Supports procedural mastery training and employee programs designed to enhance staff performance and skill. Actively seeks out and works with customers to understand their needs related to Supply Chain. Works with customers and department staff to implement measurable improvements to services to increase customer satisfaction and cost-effectiveness. Collaborates with leadership of hospital departments, administration, clinicians, and suppliers. Responsible for overseeing staff and activities for the day-to-day operations for the department under the direction of the Supply Chain Operations Manager. Maintains operations at an acceptable level of efficiency, overseeing the performance of up to and sometimes exceeding 25 employees. Reports problems, issues, and recommends solutions to the Supply Chain Operations Manager.
Job Responsibilities
1. Responsible for medical equipment cleaning and par replenishment functions, in accordance with Supply Chain Management Departments Policies and Procedures.
2. Coordinate and oversee the Storeroom Cleaning and Clean Storage areas, including oversight of Clinical area soiled and clean storage areas.
3. Oversee the Medical Equipment cleaning process.
4. Coordinate the use of the RFID tracking system to meet daily par replenishment of medical equipment.
5. Coordinate with Biomed to identify and process damaged medical equipment.
6. Responsible for the coordination and oversight of daily Linen par replenishment.
7. Act as the liaison to the Linen Supplier to evaluate and manage linen par levels. Coordinate Supplier employed FTEs for daily Linen par replenishment and validate daily Linen orders.
8. Responsible for the coordination and oversight of the Code Cart replenishment process.
9. Ensure compliance with life safety regulations and maintain ties with Emergency Preparedness and EOC committees, including fire alarm testing and fire drills.
10. Maintain appropriate documentation and participate in process improvement and quality improvement programs.
11. Understand and follow appropriate policies and procedures for the assigned areas.
12. Embrace technology solutions for work practice and processes, utilizing information systems, telecom services, and office equipment to maximize efficiencies and levels of support given to the assigned area.
13. Foster a “Culture of Safety” through personal ownership and commitment to a safe environment, acting as the liaison and educator for the assigned area for safety with the hospital-based team.
