About The Role
An exciting new role within our Property Function! Tesco is recruiting for a new Estate Planning Program Manager. Tesco is looking for someone to play a pivotal role in design, development and implementing a world-class estate planning framework and strategy to a highly automated and technologically sophisticated engineering function. Through my leadership, focus and control of our planned maintenance strategy, control of stock holding, auditing and management of our CMMS system, you'll drive increased reliability, availability of equipment and a streamlined approach to critical spares across the estate.
At Tesco, we believe in the power of spending more time together, face to face, than apart. So, during your working week, you can expect to spend 60% of your time in one of our office locations or local sites and the rest remotely. We also recognise that life looks a little different for each of us. Some people are at the start of their careers, some want the freedom to do the things they love. Others are going through life-changing moments like becoming a carer, nearing retirement, adapting to parenthood, or something else. That’s why at Tesco, we always welcome a conversation about flexible working. So, please talk to the Hiring Manager about how they can support you.
You will be responsible for:
* Establishing effective relationships and communicating clearly with partners.
* Working with central automation and site engineering manager peers building their SME knowledge into the proactive maintenance plan.
* Playing a key part of the automation engineering team within Tesco for the UK and contributing to setting strategy and direction long term.
* Designing and implementing an engineering planning strategy which covers all Automation in Tesco's most technologically advanced distribution and fulfilment centres, grouping together specific equipment types allowing for efficiencies in scale wherever required.
* Controlling and auditing the proactive maintenance strategy to protect and insulate the business against all premature failure, gaps in knowledge, and equipment becoming unmanageable or obsolete.
* Designing and implementing an audit program ensuring compliance to key metrics, collecting and presenting data gathered through our CMMS system and showcasing this to the business for direction to be set against.
* Developing tools and software to track, monitor, regularise and trend performance on a like-by-like basis.
* Liaising with peers closely identifying and using data to guide the long-term capital investment program, advising on standard methodology and accurate application wherever required.
* Being the SME on planning and scheduling principles and work shopping, with an ability to tailor approaches to differing problems on a case-by-case basis.
* Working with vendors and contractors ensuring we cover all engineering and maintenance requirements, building efficiency, reducing bottlenecks and growing availability at every stage of the process, to budget and timescale whilst advising and guiding on critical spares requirements.
* Managing budgets effectively and to target, always being cost-conscious.
You will need:
* Previous experience in the planning, scheduling or auditing of large multi-disciplined engineering functions at a leadership level.
* A deep understanding of CMMS systems, project management, auditing, collection and presentation of data and standard methodology. The ability to tailor solutions to individual problems along with the influencing skills to ensure correct consensus.
* Strong stakeholder management and budget control experience.
* Experience managing large stores and parts inventories.
* Extensive program or project management experience.
* Advanced experience working with Excel, presenting data proficiently using SQL regularly.
* The demonstrated ability to work dynamically, lead remotely and contribute heavily to the setting and implementation of business-wide strategy and long-term planning alongside the Automation SLT.
