The Opportunity
Our client is currently looking for an experienced Purchasing Assistant to join the Purchasing Department of a Global Group to support the Team following the introduction of a new SAP system, using the latest purchasing software.
This role has been deemed inside IR35.
Duration: 12 months
Location: Ellesmere Port, with the option of hybrid work after training (2 days per week).
Your Duties and Responsibilities
* Input charities and new vendors to S4 after the buyers have completed necessary checks.
* Convert lower value requisitions into purchase orders.
* Maintain the vendor list and new vendor report.
* Expedite orders, update delivery dates within the system, and book in deliveries on the app.
* Assist with VIM, chase receipts with requisitioners, triage queries, and work with accounts to resolve invoicing issues.
Your Qualifications & Experience
* Proven administration skills with good IT ability.
* Problem-solving skills and the ability to maintain accurate records.
* Driven and take initiative.
* Confident.
* Time management and organizational skills (comfortable in a fast-paced environment).
* Customer service skills, both internal and external.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
It’s Great If You Also Have
* Previous experience working in purchasing.
* Knowledge of procurement processes and procedures.
* Proficiency in Purchasing Software (SAP 4) and Microsoft Excel, Outlook.
* Previous experience of using S4 Hana (training can be given).
The Setting for the Role
Risks and hazards are in line with working on a chemical site. These can include chemical burns, trips and falls, overexertion, cuts and scrapes, chemical exposure, inhalation of chemicals, and confined spaces. A full site induction will be provided, and all safety requirements must be adhered to when entering the site.
