Are you an experienced finance professional with a passion for capital planning and management? I am working with an NHS organisation in Yorkshire who are seeking a Finance Business Partner – Capital to play a key role in managing the Trust’s capital programme and providing expert financial support to senior leaders. This is a highly technical role with responsibility for developing the capital plan, supporting investment decisions, and maintaining the asset register.
As part of the Strategic Finance Team, you will oversee capital projects, ensuring all aspects of capital accounting comply with regulations, while providing clear and timely financial advice to support the Trust’s transformation initiatives. Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Head of Financial Strategy, you will:
* Lead the development of the Capital Plan and manage capital funding arrangements.
* Maintain the Trust’s asset register, including the management of leases, disposals, and financial reporting on assets.
* Provide financial advice on capital business cases and service development projects, ensuring that all financial implications are understood and addressed.
* Work with stakeholders across the Trust to support capital investment decisions, delivering accurate financial analysis and forecasts.
* Lead and manage the Capital Team, providing mentorship, ensuring compliance with performance targets, and promoting development opportunities.
* Support the preparation of the Trust’s annual accounts and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and deadlines.
* Monitor capital expenditure, highlight variances, and recommend appropriate actions to maintain financial integrity.
* Prepare reports for the Board, key committees, and external stakeholders, ensuring all reports are accurate and compliant with national guidelines.
* Act as a point of contact for internal and external audits, ensuring that all capital financial activities meet high standards of scrutiny.
* Promote a culture of shared financial responsibility, developing strong relationships with managers and clinicians across the Trust.

Who We’re Looking For
We are looking for a finance professional who:
* Is CCAB qualified (or equivalent), with significant experience in NHS or Public Sector finance.
* Has a strong track record in capital accounting, capital asset management, and financial planning.
* Demonstrates excellent leadership skills, with experience in motivating and managing teams.
* Possesses the ability to communicate and present complex financial information effectively to a variety of stakeholders, including non-financial colleagues.
* Has experience in developing business cases and conducting investment appraisals.
* Is highly organised, detail-oriented, and capable of working autonomously to meet tight deadlines.
