Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a vibrant and inclusive school near Longfield, Kent. This full-time role is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and making a meaningful impact on their educational journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and group support to students with SEN, ensuring their individual needs are met.
- Assist the class teacher in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and adapting teaching materials to suit the learning styles of SEN students.
- Promote an inclusive learning environment, fostering a positive and supportive atmosphere.
- Help students develop social skills and manage their behavior in accordance with school policies.
- Work closely with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and other staff members to monitor and record students' progress.
- Support students with personal care needs as required.
- Engage with parents and guardians to provide regular updates on student progress and collaborate on effective strategies for support.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is essential.
- A relevant qualification in education or childcare is desirable.
- Strong understanding of various SEN conditions and effective teaching strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the educational development of SEN students.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when required.
