If so, GSL Education has an exciting opportunity for you We are looking for a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant (Secondary) to join a fantastic secondary school in Ashington. You will play a key role in helping students overcome challenges and succeed in their education. Responsibilities As a SEMH Teaching Assistant (Secondary) Support students with SEMH needs in the classroom and during school activities Work closely with teachers to plan and deliver tailored lessons Assist with behaviour management, ensuring a safe and positive learning environment Provide one-on-one support to students when needed Help students develop social skills and build confidence Monitor and report on student progress To be a successful SEMH Teaching Assistant (Secondary) you should: Previous experience as an SEMH Teaching Assistant (Secondary) or similar role is desirable Strong communication and teamwork skills A positive and empathetic approach to supporting students with SEMH needs A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children Willingness to undergo necessary training and background checks Have an updated CV (covering last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
