Job Summary
Define Global landscape, identify opportunities, build and communicate compelling value propositions in line with the Global Category Strategy. Develop communication and training material to support implementation of global Innovation initiatives. Connect with regional and global stakeholders, including Regional Marketing, IC&D, Commercial, Consumer and Business Insights, Product Experience (PX), Finance, and Pricing to support global Culinary Category priorities.
Key Responsibilities – Category
In collaboration with the Global Category Leader, Key Stakeholders and Regions: Lead and execute analysis in the following areas:
1. Culinary Product Market size and Composition, outlook.
2. Culinary Flavor market size and composition, outlook.
3. Major Market, Customer and Consumer trends in Culinary.
4. Competitive Landscape.
5. IFF business, Customers and Margins.
6. IFF Culinary Flavor product portfolio.
Then identify gaps, needs and opportunities for businesses growth and innovation spaces in Culinary. Communicate results internally to Category team and stakeholders as relevant.
Support the Global Category Lead in the development and execution of Global Culinary Strategy and growth plans in partnership with regional teams, GKA leaders, IC&D and key M&I stakeholders to address immediate, mid-range, and future needs and opportunities: Identify Where and how to play, what’s needed to win, drive prioritization to deliver the KPI’s.
1. Develop compelling Global value propositions, Topline client messaging and Promotion Collaterals for our products and technologies. Work with the Regional/GKA Category Marketing and CX to support regionalization and deployment in the Regions and with GKA’s.
2. Support the development of quarterly Category reports. Review the category diagnostics (provided by BI: Pipeline, wins, win rate, revenue, and gross profit) Combined with Market data and trends, provide the insights behind the data where needed, Connecting with GKA, Regional Category Marketing and CXM.
3. Support key customers strategic initiatives, including RFPs (Request for proposal) to develop new business and accelerate sales growth. Engage with key global and regional customers through visits and presentations about Culinary under your responsibility.
4. Work with IC&D to initiate, develop and deploy to the regional teams any relevant training needed to support the Culinary strategy and growth plans.
5. Develop and maintain visibility as a subject-matter expert and thought leader internally and externally to position IFF’s brands, portfolio and capabilities via events, publications, digital & social.
6. In strong collaboration with communications team: Develop relevant communication materials (e.g. capability presentations, collaterals, one-pagers, global campaign materials) related to Culinary. Keep the material updated & accessible for the team.
Key Responsibilities – Build For The Future
Support the innovation agenda for Culinary by developing a strategic map of relevant technologies, overlaying current and future market opportunities and capabilities/technologies used to address.
1. Based on the strategic map developed: shape Dream phase of 5D by feeding the innovation funnel with market/customer insights and differentiating value propositions, ensuring market relevant, insight led innovation.
2. Support IC&D as needed through all phases of 5D process.
3. Define and execute the actions through IC&D (through all phases of the 5D process), innovation marketing and regional marketing teams.
4. Develop business cases and NPV studies for innovation projects including quantifying market potentials and financial targets in collaboration with IC&D, regional teams and GKAs. Present to ISC where relevant.
5. Support Innovation Marketing in their deployment activities as the Culinary Category and Market expert.
6. Support scouting and identification of potential partners, start ups and companies that could accelerate innovation.
Job Requirements
A Bachelors/ Masters degree in Food Science/ Food Technology (preferred) AND/ OR Bachelor’s/ Masters degree in Marketing, Business, or Economics (MBA preferred).
1. At least 10 years of experience preferably in B2B or the food sector, category knowledge (Culinary/ Savory preferred).
2. Strong understanding of marketing strategies and capabilities in relationship building, networking and management.
3. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
4. A customer-centric mindset, strong leadership skills and the ability to lead through persuasion and influence.
5. Experience in international roles and/or multicultural environments.
