Our organisation is currently seeking a professional with exceptional skills who will provide a service that is dedicated to the provision of care and support that prioritises the well-being of individuals. In the social care sector, as a Team Leader, you will contribute to the overall efficiency of the workforce while supporting vulnerable individuals with diverse needs.
As Team Leader, you will lead by example throughout the team by offering support and direction as well as providing high-quality, person-centred care that promotes the dignity, privacy, safety, and independence of those who use our service. You will ensure that the highest standards are developed and maintained whilst carrying out a variety of additional supervisory responsibilities as required. The successful candidate must have knowledge of the Scottish Social Services Council codes of practice, and what this means in practice for those working in the social care sector.
You will collaborate with a team to supervise and enhance the service provided to people with respect to their wishes and needs. You will be a supervisor on the front lines, ensuring that all additional supervisory responsibilities are performed and that you operate within your own capabilities and competency.
In terms of working hours, you should be flexible in relation to days and hours of work, as you will be expected to work shifts, and weekends. You will also be required to deputise in absence of Team Manager/Team Coordinator, therefore experience of managing a team is desirable.
Your support given to Team Manager and Team Coordinator includes (the list being provided is not exhaustive):
• Ongoing rota management
• Covering sickness, absence when not allocated shift
• Completion of weekly timesheets
• Communicating with employees regarding correspondence required such as holidays, wellbeing days to ensure they are logged etc.
• Contribute to support plan reviews and relevant documents.
• Work in partnership, when required or requested with other professionals.
• Support inductions, probationary reviews and conducting assessments of competency as required.
The starting rate will be negotiated depending on experience and qualification.
A full driving license and willingness to use own car is desirable.
A Team Leader is required to respect and work cooperatively with others, enabling the people we support to live in their own home or within their local community with confidence.
Ideal candidates will have or will be willing to work towards a SCQF Level 7 in Health and Social Care qualification (or equivalent).

Professional qualifications are highly desirable; however, the right candidates will be supported to complete these throughout their career with us. It is desirable that applicants have experience working in a care and support environment, however all essential training will be given during induction.

Your responsibilities would include ensuring you follow the supported persons support plan and related documents, medication administration, helping with necessary tasks which will include personal care, promoting independent living within the local community and supporting individual outcome achievements. The successful candidate must be able and willing to use manual handling equipment.
We will require an update/registration of Protection of Vulnerable Groups scheme to work with vulnerable adults and will need to ensure compliance with SSSC registration (you should be registered as practitioner or supervisor).
