Hays are working in partnership with a highly reputable national and international law firm to recruit a Payroll Assistant to their team. Thispany has a fantastic attitude towards collaboration and is proud to boast a positive and supportive working culture.
Your new role
This role will work closely with the Payroll Manager and the HR Operations team to support the monthly end-to-end payroll cycle. This is typically for around 100 employees and valued at approximately £40m per month. Specifically, you will be responsible for:
1. Inputting and processing all payroll data including overtime, tax code changes, starters and leavers, absences, season ticket loans, student loans and salary changes.
2. Checking monthly payroll data to ensure integrity and accuracy
3. Running any salary adjustment processes
4. Liaising with third parties to ensure accurate data is being reported.
5. Assist in finalising year-end tax processes
6. Maintaining payroll process documentation and guidance notes
7. Recording and submitting statutory information
8. Dealing with payroll queries first hand and resolving them in as timely manner as possible
9. Support the development of payroll processes and systems, including system upgrades and implementations
10. Processing benefits adjustments and pension data
This is a full-time role, working hours a week between Monday and Friday. The role is being recruited initially on a 12 month FTC
What you'll need to succeed
You will need to have similar previous experience running a largeplex payroll process and have a strong understanding of how to calculate adjustments manually. You will be a strong IT user and befortable with Excel, particularly the use of Pivot Tables and VLookUps. You will be proactive in your approach and hold a high attention to detail, as well as be a strong written and verbalmunicator. If you are studying or are qualified CIPP then that would be advantageous.
