Job Responsibilities
1. Carry out works safely on hot and cold-water systems.
2. Have good knowledge of vented and unvented systems using direct and indirect methods.
3. Be able to diagnose faults on drainage systems, including both above and underground.
4. Repair and replace all aspects of plumbing, including all sanitary fittings.
5. Have good knowledge of legislation, building regulations, and British standards.
6. Have a sound knowledge of health and safety requirements and abide by health & safety regulations, ensuring all work practices are safe. This includes carrying out risk assessments and reporting bad practices and dangerous occurrences to your supervisor.
7. Have knowledge of electrical principles and good knowledge of Legionella.
8. Be able to recognize trace heating and undertake 'secondary trade' skills as required.
9. Maintain impressed van stock of materials, including recording usage on a handheld device.
10. Use the delivery service and 'Pod' assigned to you to replenish your impressed stock while minimizing travel and downtime. Specify and order specialist materials where required to complete tasks while minimizing wastage.
11. Ensure standby log sheets, material orders, vehicle checks, and annual leave requests are all completed through our systems and in line with our policies.
12. Achieve relevant productivity and performance targets set on an annual basis.
13. Inform supervisors of work orders requiring cancellation, follow-on works, or changes in status.
14. Produce short reports for supervisors as required.
15. Ensure company vehicle is only used in accordance with company vehicle policy.
16. Ensure the safe and effective use of tools and plant, ensuring they are regularly maintained and serviced, and notify your supervisor of any loss or damage.
17. Deliver quality workmanship within your specific trades without close supervision.
18. Inspect quality upon completion of work and ensure satisfaction before leaving the customer.
19. Take responsibility for supervising apprentices if assigned and for the quality of their work.
20. Undertake flexible working patterns as required to provide effective, customer-focused services, including participating in the standby duty rota outside of normal office hours.
