Priory Hospital Bristol is part of the Healthcare Division of Priory Group and has 86 beds over eight wards varying from Eating Disorders, Acute Mental Health, Acquired Brain Injury, Adult PICU, Huntington's and Dementia, private addiction, and general psychiatry.
This is a role for an experienced Speech and Language therapist who has experience in neurological disorders and communication difficulties. We are looking for someone to provide highly specialised assessment and therapy for dysphagia and communication impairments to a wide range of adult clients with mental health diagnoses and complex conditions including acquired and progressive neurological conditions e.g. Huntington's disease, Parkinson's, and stroke.
Working on a rehab ward with up to 14 patients. This is an opportunity to work with longer stay inpatients to support individual rehab and be a part of a therapies team including Occupational Therapy, Occupational Therapy Assistants, Physiotherapy, and Psychology, as well as a wider MDT including Psychiatry and the nursing teams.
Essential Criteria:
- Degree and Licence to Practise from the Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists
- Current AHP with UK HCPC registration and RCSLT membership
Desirable Criteria:
- Well established knowledge of a broad range assessment tools relevant to the specialist client group
- Evidence of relevant post-registration education and training e.g. in Stroke, Supervision
- Member of a relevant Clinical Excellence Network
- Evidence of competence in managing dysphagic patients
