We are looking to recruit a Test Engineer for our Scarborough Based client.
FUNCTION
1. Undertake direct test and repair activities within the Product Division.
2. Inspect, test and repair standby power products to ensure compliance with technical specifications, quality and safety standards.
3. Document test results and product configuration in accordance with company QUENSH system.
4. Implement safe working practices at all times.
5. Provide technical support to all areas of the business as required.
DUTIES
1. Ensure that product test and repairs are completed to a high level of workmanship.
2. Ensure that product test and repairs are technically compliant with project specifications.
3. Ensure that product test and repairs adhere to relevant quality and safety standards (eg. BS EN 60950).
4. Achieve the highest levels of performance in terms of speed of work, quality and meeting deadlines.
5. Oversee customer Factory Acceptance Tests, liaising with clients in a polite and professional manner.
6. Make active contribution to Continuous Improvement initiatives, challenging product design, build and test processes and information workflow.
7. Provide technical support to other areas of the business as required.
8. Undertake additional working hours as required to ensure the Product Division output is achieved.
9. Provide training and mentoring to junior members of the test department to develop skills and capability.
10. Carry out equipment calibration, PAT testing and maintenance work on test equipment as required.
11. Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with company health and safety procedures.
12. Provide support to operations within the battery test area of the business as required.
13. Provide support to the repairs section of the business as required.
14. Develop and maintain good professional working relationships. Demonstrate a positive attitude at all times.
15. Undertake site commissioning activities as required.
16. Carry out other related duties as directed by the Test Supervisor.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
1. Qualifications
1. HND / Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or equivalent) is essential.
2. Health and safety awareness qualification is desirable.
2. Experience
1. At least three years' experience working in a similar technical role is essential.
2. The ability to read circuit diagrams and fault find to component level is essential.
3. Knowledge of battery chargers, rectifiers, inverters and uninterruptible power supplies is desirable.
