Founded in 1965, our client is a UK-wide firm with two principal office locations: Liverpool and Manchester.
Their engineering expertise reaches across all sectors of the construction industry, providing pragmatic and practical design solutions to ensure our projects are spatially and operationally efficient. Our design process fully considers the installation and maintenance practicalities on site.
Due to their continued growth into the residential sector, they are looking to recruit an Intermediate Electrical Engineer, ideally with residential experience, to join an electrical team on technically challenging projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Contributes to the development and growth of the company by identifying new opportunities and potential areas for growth, and also maintaining and developing existing client relationships.
2. Works with other Engineers to ensure quality and timely operation delivery for clients.
3. Compiles specifications, drawings, and relevant contract documents, maintaining the required technical quality of work, ensuring that designs comply with the relevant codes, standards, regulations, and procedures.
4. Provides Electrical Building Services Engineering design to buildings and infrastructure.
5. Identifies scope and scheduling changes in accordance with the change control process, maintaining planning and cost control on all scope.
6. Delivers small- to large-scale projects from concept designs through to completion, executing Building Services Engineering activities within the budget and schedule, whilst maintaining technical integrity.
7. Negotiates positive outcomes, resource planning, providing motivation and management.
8. Promotes team building and supports the team through training and mentoring.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. A relevant degree in Electrical Building Services Engineering, or equivalent qualification or sufficient suitable experience.
2. Ability to demonstrate extensive experience in a wide range of technical areas.
3. Desirable experience in residential projects.
4. An appreciation of complementary specialisms such as acoustics, fire engineering, and computer modelling in the design of buildings.
5. Associate or student member of an appropriate professional body such as CIBSE, IET.
6. Achieved or working towards Chartered Engineer status.
7. Technical electrical knowledge and a thorough understanding of Building Services Engineering and interdisciplinary design through all stages of the design process.
8. Results-oriented approach with strong problem-solving, technical realization, and coordination skills.
9. Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
10. Computer literacy which includes Autodesk Suite, ProDesign, lighting software, and Microsoft Office.
11. Current UK driving licence.
