Geography Teacher
Location: Newham
Start Date: January 2025
Contract: Long Term, Full Time
Salary Scale: £185 - £265 per day (Depending on experience)
GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Geography Teacher to join a vibrant secondary school in Newham. This is a fantastic opportunity to inspire young minds and cultivate a love for geography in a supportive and dynamic learning environment. The role demands an individual with a strong subject knowledge who is adept at delivering engaging and challenging lessons tailored to a diverse student cohort.
Responsibilities of a Geography Teacher:
1. Plan and deliver high-quality lessons that meet the needs of all learners.
2. Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely feedback.
3. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture.
4. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the geography curriculum and exam specifications.
5. Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum development.
6. Promote the importance of geography in understanding global and environmental challenges.
Required Qualifications for a Geography Teacher:
1. Hold UK QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualifications.
2. Demonstrable experience teaching geography at Key Stages 3 and 4, with Key Stage 5 desirable.
3. Strong subject knowledge and understanding of curriculum requirements.
4. Proven ability to differentiate lessons to cater to a range of abilities and needs.
5. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
