x1Band 8A Senior Practitioner Psychologist (Band 7 Preceptorship considered, 0.8 wte, permanent, flexible working available)
Please note that two years post qualification experience will be required for Band 8A.
We are recruiting for a Practitioner Psychologist within our North Acute Inpatient Service. It is a permanent 0.8wte post based at Northcroft in Erdington. The post holder will be joining a diverse and innovative team of psychological professionals inputting across our male and female acute wards. It is an ideal post for applying your full range of psychological skills and knowledge including working with individuals, teams and families. We currently have a range of projects aimed at addressing health inequalities such as a pilot of Islamic psychological interventions, adapting guided self-help materials for services users with Learning Disabilities / Learning Difficulties and developing resources for people with ADHD and Autism. We are also open to exploring new ideas and suggestions to further develop our services.
There is a budget for in house / external CPD.
Tasks include:
• Undertaking psychological assessment, formulation
• Delivering brief interventions
• Consultation with the wider MDT
• Teaching and training within our local team, service and, local universities
• Facilitating risk huddles with the wider MDT
You will be trained and supported to utilise quality improvement methodology to develop service provision.
We have strong links with our Participation and Experience Lead and there will be opportunities to develop co produced workshops with Experts by Experience.
You will be supported to consolidate clinical leaderships skills and begin to develop skills in strategic leadership.
