Description
As an IT Infrastructure Engineer in our innovative Technology team, you will be responsible for leading the ongoing support, protection, development, integration, and operation of Infrastructure services. Using your great foundation of technical expertise, you will facilitate and lead technical projects successfully into BAU operations. This role is pivotal in maintaining and enhancing our multi-site IT infrastructure.
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and exceptional communication and relationship building abilities. You will be a proactive and adaptable individual who can work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, embracing your role as the face of technology.
Note: This is a home based role but travel to our offices located in the Southern UK region will be required (approximately two visits per month).
Key Responsibilities
* Day-to-day administration, maintenance, monitoring, supporting, and troubleshooting multi-site, on-premises, cloud, and SaaS IT infrastructure including Networking, Windows Servers and AD, Virtualisation, M365, Security, Backups, Azure servers, End User Computing devices/software, devices, applications, data flows and automation.
* Maintain the LAN, WAN infrastructure, WiFi setup and performance, VPN & firewalls ensuring that secure, stable connectivity is provided.
* Set up and configure (switches Cisco or any other similar products).
* Set up and configure (WatchGuard /FortiGate /Sophos XG or similar)
* Incident management and problem management (including pro-active problem identification, root cause analysis, and resolution).
* Responsible for technical design and delivery of both Physical & Virtualised Server (VMware) along with Client Infrastructure (Windows).
* Travel to other sites to maintain, upgrade, migrate networks.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Qualifications/Knowledge
* Microsoft tech stack infrastructure related.
* Cisco CCNA or equivalent.
* Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
* Project Management Qualification, i.e. ITIL or relevant experience.
Experience
* Extensive experience working as an Infrastructure engineer within Multi-Domain (MS AD) environments.
* Experienced in Azure administration, deployment, and migrations, beyond managing server instances.
* Virtualisation – HyperV/ VMWare, Storage, SAN, NAS, HyperV hosts and virtual machines, Veeam backups and replication.
Demonstrable experience with working with, but not limited to the following:
* Windows Server 2012 onwards, AD, DCs, GPO.
* Microsoft Intune and Windows Patch Management.
* Microsoft clustering technologies.
* Microsoft Exchange (2013 or upwards).
* Active Directory: DNS /DHCP / Site & Service.
* Firewalls (Anti-Virus, firewalls, EUC, data and Cloud security).
