1. Participate in the preparation of the annual departmental operating budget and financial plans.
2. Control and monitor departmental costs on an ongoing basis to ensure performance against budget, managing the department expenses.
3. Oversee night audit function and preparation of daily financial reports.
4. Participate in the planning and execution to increase occupancy and ADR through walk-ins and up-selling at the front desk.
5. Assist in planning for future staffing needs and recruiting in line with company guidelines.
6. Coach, counsel, and discipline staff, providing constructive feedback to enhance performance.
7. Assist in maintaining a comprehensive, current, and guest-focused set of departmental standards and procedures and oversee their implementation.
8. Build and maintain positive relationships with all internal customers and guests in order to exceed their needs.
9. Create a positive hotel image in every interaction with internal and external customers.
10. Maintain a high level of product and service knowledge in order to explain and sell services and facilities to guests.
11. Maintain knowledge of special programs and events in the hotel in order to recognize and respond to guests' needs.
12. Maintain current hotel information to be able to provide information to guests.
13. Consistently review the hotel performance and ensure the team is delivering recognition to our loyal guests within the IHG Rewards Club and InterContinental Ambassador membership.
14. React to situations to ensure guests receive prompt attention, personal recognition throughout the hotel, and respond to guest needs while resolving related problems.
15. Promote inter-hotel sales and in-house facilities. Ensure front line staff comply with FIT marketing techniques and maximize sales. Check billing instructions and monitor guest credit along with analyzing/approving discounts, rebates, and refunds.
16. Take action with the Property Management Systems (PMS) in emergency situations and be fully conversant with all hotel emergency procedures.
