The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for driving business growth through creating and implementing business development strategies to support the success of the business and help it achieve its organisational goals, while increasing revenue. You'll extensively network across the UK to identify new business opportunities, negotiate and close business deals, and foster and develop relationships with new and existing clients, suppliers, and other key stakeholders in the underfloor heating industry.
The BDM will support the Mathewson leadership team in account managing our existing customers to drive repeat business and will also be required to monitor tender portals and submit bids where necessary.

Salary: £40,000 per annum

Responsibilities:
* Sales, account management, and networking in all appropriate sectors
* Develop an expanded network of repeat clients
* Assist in the production of quality responses & administration for tenders
* Plan, contribute, and manage Mathewson’s lead generation activities
* Act as the initial point of contact for all client queries
* Develop and maintain project plans including performance, reporting, and ensure projects are delivered according to Mathewson’s quality processes
* Liaise closely with the Pre-Construction team and Operations team to develop optimum client solutions
* Identify and attend industry events
* Grow Mathewson’s market share
Minimum Requirements:
* Full clean UK driving licence (regular travel will be involved)
* Proven experience and success in a sales environment (preferably 3 years +)
* Good working knowledge of underfloor heating
* Experience of working within the construction industry (experience working with housing developers is preferred)
* Excellent written & spoken English and ability to communicate at all levels
* Ability to negotiate / influence
* High level of literacy and ability to write high-quality project proposals
* Bid writing experience and good commercial acumen
* Ability to gain the confidence of clients and create strong working relationships
