About The Role
As the Senior Creative Copy Manager, you'll manage a team of three writers and act as day-to-day guardian of our tone of voice. As well as generating inspiring copy and campaign ideas in your own right as our senior copywriter you'll act as a sub-editor, overseeing copy output from the team, ensuring consistent quality.
You'll also need the ability to think conceptually. We're looking for someone who can stare fearlessly at blank screen and magic up a story from scratch that puts our brand values front and centre.
This role reports to the Head of Copy and is part of the Brand Marketing Team which creates the content for Boden's websites, catalogues, Social Media accounts and wider CRM and customer acquisition activity.
What You Will Do
* Lead and mentor a team of three: two Creative Copywriters and a Product Copy Editor.
* Act as a sub-editor, overseeing copy output from the team, ensuring consistent quality.
* Write copy for all Womenswear and Childrenswear touchpoints: digital and print advertising copy, emails, homepages, print and social media.
* Work closely with the Head of Copy to ensure that the team develops the Boden tone of voice and speaks in a cohesive way to all customers across all channels.
* Manage workflow and assignment of tasks to team members, ensuring that copy delivers on briefs.
* Work in lockstep with the wider creative team of art directors, graphic designers, social media practitioners and the PR and product marketing teams - to bring our campaigns to life with pithy, ownable text.
* Build relationships with key people in Marketing and Product teams.
* Be an ambassador for excellent copy within the business, looking at competitors and other outlets and reporting on successes and learnings.
* Deputise for the Head of Copy whenever required.
What We Are Looking For
* Experience in a senior copywriting role, creating copy for online and offline channels, preferably with experience in fashion retail.
* Experience writing Social Media copy for retail brands.
* Storytelling experience for a variety of retail brands.
* Demonstrable experience as a Tone of Voice guardian.
* Extensive experience as a sub-editor, managing the output of other writers.
* Experience working as a brand creative, collaborating with designers and art directors to devise concepts for campaigns.
* In depth interest in and understanding of retail brands and their tone of voice.
* Ability to think creatively and conceptually.
* Commercially aware with a good understanding of how various channels operate (website, print, emails, paid social, SEO, etc.)
* Exceptional time management skills gained through working in similar fast paced environments.
* Previous team management experience.
