An exciting opportunity has arisen for and Administrative Assistant/PA within the Orthoptic/Ophthalmology department, South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The post will be primarily based at Low Grange Health Village with the requirement to attend each week at James Cook University Hospital and potential to visit off-site clinics at University Hospital North Tees and Friarage Hospital.
The post holder will act as an administrative assistant to the Orthoptic team, including Orthoptists and Orthoptic Support Workers., The post holder will act as an administrative assistant to the Orthoptic Departmental staff and will be an active member of the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) by supporting the qualified Orthoptists and Orthoptic Support Workers to provide an efficient and effective service within the framework of clinical governance.
The post holder will be responsible for providing effective administration support to the service, managing new case appointments, using Choose and Book, and supporting with ensuring Orthoptic patients have follow-up appointments.
The post holder will be responsible for answering telephone queries, both internal and external, relating to Orthoptic patient queries and ensure that answer phone messages are documented and dealt with in a reasonable timescale using excellent communication.
The post holder has a personal responsibility and duty of care to patients/service users; they are expected to comply fully with all Trust policies and protocols, including those related to patient safety. They must also promote dignity, privacy, and respect, to support with the delivery of compassionate, safe, high-quality patient care.
