About The Post Join our team as a Management Support Officer An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Children's Services Directorate in Barnsley Council as a Management Support Officer, providing a comprehensive and efficient Business Support service predominantly to the Service Director for Commissioning. What You'll Do As a Management Support Officer, you will support Service Directors within Commissioning to enable them to fulfil their role effectively in the context of a highly pressurised working environment, taking ownership of specific issues within the service, co-ordinating and monitoring milestones through to resolution. The role specifically involves email and diary management, arranging and servicing meetings i.e. minute taking and taking responsibility for following up actions or projects arising from the meeting. You will be required to deal effectively with politically and commercially sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality. What You Need NVQ level 3 or equivalent level qualification in a business related subject. Extensive business support experience, preferably in local government. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic document management. High standards of professionalism, communication and diplomacy. Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities. Flexible in your approach in order to ensure the overall service objectives are achieved, be an excellent team player and willing to make a solid contribution to the smooth running of the service.
