Job title: Materials Resource Planner (MRP) Controller
Location/remote: Lincoln/Hybrid (2 days in the office)
Contract length: 12 month rolling contract
Pay rate: £15-£25ph PAYE
Randstad Sourceright, an international RPO & MSP Recruitment Services, has an exciting opportunity for a Material Resource Planning (MRP) Controller to join one of our clients based in Lincoln, who are a global leader in energy technology.
Overview
As a successful Material Resource Planning (MRP) Controller, you will create, maintain, and communicate detailed delivery plans for specific part orders within our supply chain that are commitment accepted to enable the master production plan to be achieved. You will also provide the Supply Chain Management Team (SCMT) with the implications of the delivery schedules' ability to meet customer and business requirements.
Main Tasks
1. Respond to demand changes by providing the Head of Operational Procurement with the implications of meeting customer requirements in line with the company Commitment Acceptance (Sales & Operations Planning) process.
2. Ensure the maintenance of component planning both Master and Dynamic data, enabling the cascade of demand through the supply chain resulting in a committed plan.
3. Plan and manage stock across the supply chain ensuring levels specified are maintained and used in the appropriate order and time frame.
4. Ensure specified supplier delivery commitments are reflected in SAP, respond to supplier inquiries, and manage adherence of schedule lines (Exception Messages) to ensure delivery to plan, including new parts introduction in line with all relevant processes.
5. Be process compliant through the use of company standard systems, processes, and reports to resolve potential delivery hazards.
6. Be the primary interface and lead operational relationships with suppliers to manage and coordinate all improvement activity associated with planning, control, inventory, subcontract services, delivery, and lead time.
7. Lead business reviews with suppliers ensuring that both the suppliers' and SE requirements are being met, considering the impact on Quality, Cost, and Delivery on the SCMT.
8. Manage and coordinate delivery issues, report shortages and recovery programs to meet the plan. Manage the impact and escalate issues as required.
9. Understand Load and Capacity constraints within a supplier that may impact performance and delivery.
10. Understand the requirements of the quality system, inventory control, and IT systems.
11. Take responsibility for your own development and be able to deal with internal stakeholders & Customers.
Key Skills
1. Good working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems.
2. Experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, or a Logistics discipline and a working knowledge of production planning and controls.
3. Excellent communication skills, robust approach along with problem-solving and proactive skills.
4. Previous experience with Supply Chain Management - Capability & Capacity Assessment.
5. Knowledge of Supply Chain Scheduling.
