Job Description
Join Catch22 as a Project Worker supporting service users in remand transitioning from custody to the community across London, with regular work at HMP Wandsworth and HMP Pentonville. This role involves providing practical and emotional support to individuals during a critical time, helping them to navigate the complexities of remand status and reduce violent behaviour.
You will:
* Build and establish relationships with prisoners, and provide mentoring tailored to their specific needs.
* Conduct pre- and post-release support, helping individuals transition to the community effectively.
* Develop and implement action plans, assisting with housing, appointments, and employment opportunities.
* Deliver group sessions focused on life skills, coping strategies, and motivation.
* Collaborate with prisons, probation services, and community organisations to create a cohesive support framework.
This is a varied role requiring adaptability to custodial and community environments, alongside a commitment to building safer communities.
Qualifications
Essential:
* Relevant experience in community support or mentoring, especially with high-risk or challenging individuals.
* Strong knowledge of the criminal justice system, safeguarding, and support systems (housing, employment, finances).
* Excellent communication, problem-solving, and advocacy skills.
Desirable:
* Qualifications in youth justice, criminology, or related fields.
* Experience in delivering one-to-one and group interventions.

Contract: Permanent
Hours & work pattern: Full time, 38 hours per week.
Salary: £31,200
Location: HMP Wandsworth
