We are pleased to offer a full time, Band 2 Ward Clerk post to work on the Acute Medical Unit at The Royal Oldham Hospital.
You will provide a wide range of administrative and clerical duties to the ward/unit staff and be responsible for the safe keeping and availability of all clinical records relating to patients and the smooth running of the ward/department. You will also provide general assistance to the ward/unit staff.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide general non-clinical advice, information, and guidance of ancillary services directly to patients, clients, relatives, and carers.
2. Accurately file reports, notes, and results efficiently.
3. Participate in any new directions which ensure smooth running of the service.
4. Show initiative and carry out duties safely and competently and where necessary, train new staff.
5. Respond to telephone enquiries from hospital staff and patients efficiently and conscientiously.
6. Attend and participate in regular staff meetings.
7. Provide cover for sickness absence and annual leave within the department.
8. Perform general clerical duties, as required, within the department.
9. Ensure patient case notes are available, maintained, and up to date.
10. Data input on the Patient Administration System (PAS), in line with the Trust Waiting List and outpatient’s procedures and policies.
