The HCA is responsible for: Performing tasks prescribed and delegated by the clinical team, working to agreed protocols and within defined competencies. Conduct weight and height measurements, test and record blood pressure, temperature, pulse and blood sugar levels The testing and result recording of clinical specimens Provide assistance in minor operations and coil clinics ensuring patient care Undertaking NHS Health Checks Completing annual reviews and long term condition monitoring Undertaking ECGs Carry out routine wound care and dressings in accordance with Practice guidelines including suture and clip removal The ongoing cleaning and sterilisation of clinical equipment and working surfaces, preparing treatment rooms prior to use Ensure infection control procedures are followed Undertake ear syringing Phlebotomy services B12 injections Carry out home visits Chaperoning Peak flow readings Assist GP in the running of group consultations Refer patients to other staff members or services where appropriate and within competency Vaccine / cold chain storage, monitoring and recording Undertake vaccinations, immunisations and injections in accordance with Practice guidelines including flu clinics with supervision and PSD The inputting of information onto the Practice clinical system Follow health and safety procedures The checking and recording of medical supplies on receipt Ensure adequate stock levels for nursing team Attend all relevant training events and meetings within the practice Any other reasonable duties which may be requested from time-to-time
