Being part of a several hundred strong team across the UK, however you will work within the smaller and growing Mechanical Engineering team based in Bristol. You will preferably have experience of working in defence or a similar industry, but also those with relevant mechanical design experience looking to work in a technically challenging environment are encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities: - Provide mechanical engineering support to clients during development and analysis of mechanical systems and equipment. - Produce documentation including diagrams; technical specifications; supporting calculations and analysis; design evidence and justifications. - Provide leadership and problem-solving ability to influence key design decisions. - Provide a professional engineering service to clients and undertake design reviews and presentations where necessary. - Liaise with cross-disciplinary engineering teams and stakeholders. - Encourage development of less experienced engineers within the team. Here's what you need - BEng (Hons) / MEng or equivalent in a relevant STEM degree. - CEng or on a career path to achieving CEng status. We will support you in this process. - Technical report writing skills and professional attitude. - Experience in the design/delivery of mechanical systems or equipment through the design lifecycle. - Familiarity with engineering software packages such as AutoCAD or similar. - Willingness to learn and understand new systems and equipment to meet project deliverables. Desirable: - Familiarity with design and safety standards. Knowledge of Defence Standards or similar may be advantageous but is not essential. - Knowledge and experience of specifying mechanical systems or equipment. - Experience in the production of design deliverables. e.g. equipment sizing calculations in any of the following: heating/ cooling/ fan sizing/ pumps/ compressors/ hydraulic plants/ piping etc. - Experience with liaising and coordinating with other design disciplines. - Willingness to travel and attend key meetings to build relationships. - You must be a UK National and have the ability to obtain SC level security clearance, which includes being resident in the UK for the preceding 5 years.
