We are looking for a Senior BI Analyst to join our team.
You would have the option of remote, full or hybrid working from any of our offices across Scotland or Newcastle.
Job Purpose:
At Johnston Carmichael, Senior BI Analysts play a crucial role in transforming data into actionable insights that drive strategic decisions across the firm. As a key member of the data and analytics team, you will collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs, analyse data, and deliver comprehensive reports and dashboards that empower our business units to achieve their goals.
The Senior BI Analyst will be responsible for (but not limited to):
1. Drive Insightful Analytics: Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to identify key performance metrics and craft data-driven solutions that provide deep insights and support strategic decision-making.
2. Champion Data Quality: Take full ownership of the data lifecycle, ensuring that the data you work with is accurate, timely, and relevant. Your commitment to quality will be evident in every report and dashboard you produce.
3. Empower Stakeholders: Act as a mentor to junior analysts, providing guidance and support to help them grow in their roles. Your expertise will be instrumental in upskilling the team and fostering a data-driven culture within the firm.
4. Lead by Example: Advocate for and implement best practices in business intelligence, including data governance, standardised reporting, and advanced analytics techniques to ensure consistency and reliability in our insights.
5. Stay Ahead: Keep abreast of the latest trends and technologies in data analytics and business intelligence, bringing fresh, innovative ideas that enhance our analytical capabilities and drive the firm forward.
About You:
1. Significant prior experience in a role related to business intelligence or data analysis.
2. Formal qualification in a related discipline (e.g., IT, Computer Science, Business Analysis).
3. Understanding of BI tools and technologies (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, SQL).
4. A leader of your work and your professional learning.
5. Excellent communication skills with the ability to positively impact and influence others.
6. Proactive in identifying areas for improvement and suggesting solutions.
