Finance Director - Yeovil / Hybrid - Circa: £85,000 + Car allowance + Company performance related bonus + Future share options
Not every Finance Director is cut from the same cloth. Technical skills, general management experience and future aspirations vary widely. A career opportunity with longevity requires careful consideration, and we think our current project breaks that mould.
Trial Balance Consulting is delighted to have formed an exclusive recruitment partnership with a highly successful services business that has tasked us with sourcing their next Finance Director. This position is pivotal and carries a unique remit, offered as a full-time, permanent contract based at the company’s headquarters near Yeovil, with scope for hybrid working and regular travel.
The recruiting company: A highly successful b2b services business operating in a niche sector of commercial asset and property management, with major clients throughout the UK and Europe. Well-established, employing over 50 staff, the company’s balance sheet is strong and its growth trajectory is promising.
The opportunity: This FD role is unique. The successful candidate will work closely with the board of directors and senior management team to manage the company’s internal financial health and strategy, as well as a major aspect of the business’ service offering. This includes meeting with and presenting to clients, providing high-quality commercial advice and financial performance commentary. Responsibilities include operational accounting, team management, analysis, and strategic forecasting.
The successful candidate: Almost certainly a professionally qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with at least 5 years of commercial accounting experience, likely in a number-one or number-two capacity currently. The role requires a candidate with strong commercial awareness and entrepreneurial flair, capable of working closely with major clients and decision-makers outside of finance, while managing a team. The company is technology-focused, requiring sharp IT aptitude with MS Excel and digital accounting tools to produce detailed cashflow models for commercial properties. A strong awareness of audit, compliance, and internal controls is essential. Experience or ambitions to operate as a key decision maker at board level is preferred.
The benefits: A generous base salary (negotiable DOE) and car allowance (£7.5K), a performance-related bonus, competitive pension, private healthcare, life assurance, and future share options.
